COWDEN head for Gayfield this Saturday for a top two clash in the Barrs Irn Bru Second Division but while he wants all three points the Blues' player/manager, Colin Cameron, insists nothing will be decided by this match.

Arbroath and Cowdenbeath have drawn the previous two meetings this season and the bookmakers will probably have this down as another share of the spoils.

But a Cowdenbeath win could go a long way to helping them to their goal of the automatic promotion place.

The manager will be looking for a repeat of the second-half performance against Stirling Albion when they head north.

He said this week, "I felt we opened the game well enough but then suddenly stopped playing after about 20 minutes.

"At half-time we stressed that they had to get back to being in the opposition's faces and get back to the passing game which has given us so many good results at home and they immediately started to carve out chance after chance in the second-half.

"We scored three in the second period but it could have been four or five and over the 90 minutes it was a good overall performance."

The manager was very pleased with Gary Fisher's debut with the on loan Killie man playing a key role after the break and was also delighted to see Lewis Coult get a hat-trick, although he blamed the striker for the Albion leveller!

"Gary gets about the park so ably and he did very well throughout the game while Lewis took his goals superbly.

"However, he was warned about picking people up a set-pieces and he failed to mark Gary Thom at the equaliser and hopefully he will learn from that".

Coult said, "Yes I heard the lads shouting but I just did not react quickly enough.

"It was a great day for me though, for despite scoring a lot of goals at every level I have played at I have never scored a hat-trick so this was a very special moment for me.

"I know that I have to play well every week to stay in the team and I am really enjoying this run."

Looking ahead to this coming Saturday Mr Cameron is aware he will have to make at least one change following right-back David Cowan slightly tearing his hamstring against Albion.

"It looks like he will be out for around three weeks but there are options to cover for his absence although his presence will be missed," he added.

"Saturday is clearly a big game but win lose or draw nothing will be decided at Gayfield.

"Every game in this division presents its own problems and we will have to perform like we did in the second-half against Stirling if we want to win the game."

With Cowan out his likely replacement is young Dean Brett, who filled the right-back position before the experienced man's arrival in August. Another alternative could be slotting the experienced Craig Winter into the position.

Otherwise there will be few changes if any, depending on injuries from the Albion Rovers re-arranged game on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Cowden are in action against Stirling again, next Tuesday in a match postponed from December.
